'Since I Have a Lover' has all the color I could have imagined from the beginning, you know, when we started in black and white. What's up, I'm 6lack and this is Billboard News.

Hey everyone, it's your girl Catrise J here with Billboard News talking to 6lack. Welcome how are you?

Well well.

You're nominated for a Grammy, so you're nominated for best progressive R&B album. How do you feel?
6missing
Specifically for this one, it feels really good because it's an album that's not really rooted in things that people consider cool. Which is like growing up and you know, trial and error and maturity and having healthier relationships with yourself and the people around you. So getting a nomination is just the icing on the cake.

You got this nomination after a five-year hiatus. What was the journey like, being on hold for five years, releasing this album, making the album and then getting a Grammy nomination? What does that kind of trip feel like for you?

Roller coaster – some really good days and some really terrible days.
