Some phrases that have been heard a lot when discussing Sean “Diddy” Combs lately include “How did he do it?” or “Didn't anyone say anything?” In a new report from Rolling rocksome of these questions are he answered as the magazine took an in-depth look at the seemingly brutal behavior of the buzzy mogul during his rise as a Hip-Hop icon.
It's no exaggeration that Diddy is now officially disgraced after CNN released video of the Bad Boy Records founder brutally beating his then-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, in a hotel lobby in 2016. By now you've probably heard the story — he testified Cassie filed a lawsuit against Diddy accusing him of rape and sex trafficking, among other offenses, which he quickly settled the next day.
Cassie's bravery in coming forward opened the door for more women, and one man, to file lawsuits accusing Combs of a myriad of heinous charges that include sexual assault, trafficking, and even illegal firearms. Aside from the fake apology he issued after the hotel footage was released, Diddy has been adamant that all the other hype is basically a money grab and that he's the real victim.
Good, Rolling rock He sorted through all the evidence in the aforementioned lawsuits and also contacted former Bad Boy employees, artists, friends and collaborators to paint a picture of who they describe as an “abusive, menacing figure.” The six-month investigation led to the painting of a figure who was basically trouble from his school days at Howard University, when he was the party promoter and student, who also completed an internship at Uptown Records and eventually went to the Hip. -Hop stardom. Much has been said about Kim Porter being Diddy's one true love. However, the late model who shared three children with Diddy was allegedly physically abused by him as well. And it goes without saying that he was anything but faithful. She reportedly divorced him when he had another child while she was pregnant with her twin girls.
4. Shakir Stewart was minding his own business…

Shakir Stewart was an award-winning music executive who died in 2008 (he was VP of A&R at Def Jam at the time). But back in 2000, he made the mistake of daring to get romantically involved with Kim Porter, which in turn angered Mr. Combs.
Per Rolling Stone: In 2000, Porter's newfound courtship with the late music executive Shakir Stewart angered Combs. When the industry gathered for LA Reid's wedding in Italy that summer, Combs went into Stewart's room after the ceremony and allegedly smashed a chair over Stewart's head, Stewart's mother and two close friends tell Rolling Stone his friends. “She left him bleeding on a hotel floor in Italy,” says Stewart's mother, Portia. “He had to get stitches afterwards [Combs] threatened him… “I will kill you” … That's when I said you have to get out of this business. This man is crazy.”
5. Hate me now

It's too often forgotten how in 1999, Diddy and his bodyguards walked into the office of then-Interscope Records executive Steve Stoute, laid hands and feet on him. Diddy was reportedly upset with the editing of Nas' “Hate Me Now” video that was sent to MTV. They settled out of court for about $500,000 (at least) and are still friends. But yes, that happened.
6. Tupac Was Cool On Puff

Apparently Tupac's “I Get Around” was studied by Bad Boy Records executives on how to make it a commercial Hip-Hop hit. Diddy tried to befriend Pac, but while the latter rapper was cool, for a time, with the Notorious BIG, he considered Puff a “bad” guy according to Biggie's photographer and friend Monqiue Bunn.
7. P. Satan?

Andre Harrell was Diddy's mentor, but the student became a terror in the Uptown Records office. So much so that the other executives reportedly refer to him as “Satan” behind his back. Eventually, Harrell fired him.
8. HU Diddy

Part of Diddy's origin story is the two years he spent at HBCU Howard University as an undergraduate, where he earned a rep for rocking parties. Unfortunately, Rolling rock located witnesses who said he hit a girl on campus with a belt in a fit of rage.
“Puff is out here acting crazy. He beats her,” the fellow students said, according to the classmate.
9. Bad Boy x BMF

The Black Mafia family was notorious on the streets. But BMF allegedly planting money for Bad Boy Records wasn't on our bingo card. A stray line from a segment about the feds' raids on Diddy's Miami and Los Angeles homes reads: “Agents may also look into Combs' alleged ties to the notorious Black Mafia family cartel, after Detroit Jane Doe alleged in her suit that the group was 'rumored to have spawned Bad Boy.' (No criminal charges have been announced since publication.)”
