In a strong show of solidarity and social awareness, ILLENIUM has announced that it will partner with End Overdose for a critical collaborative fundraising effort.
End Overdose, a pioneering organization fighting the opioid crisis, has launched efforts to raise $25,000 and, in a harmonious twist, ILLENIUM has committed to match every donation dollar for dollar up to its goal. Additionally, five lucky donors will receive a grand prize for attending this year's “Trilogy” leg in Los Angeles, an autographed t-shirt and participating in an in-person naloxone training session with ILLENIUM at the show.
The importance of the effort is amplified by the fact that End Overdose trained more than 216,000 people in administering naloxone, a crucial medication used to reverse opioid overdoses, last year alone and distributed nearly 167,000 doses of the life-saving drug. lives.
Deeply rooted in ILLENIUM's own experiences, the initiative aims to give back to the community and provide a lifeline to those facing similar challenges. We caught up with the Grammy-nominated electronic music superstar in April to talk about her current partnership with End Overdose, one of EDM.comTop industry leaders of 2022.
“Coming out of that, being at such a low point… I was so helpless at the time that I was willing to do pretty much anything I could,” ILLENIUM said of his heroin overdose in 2012. “Spending my time with whoever I could “I didn't want to lose my family. I wanted to love myself eventually. I wanted to care. Music did that for me enormously. That's why I started making music. That's why I became so obsessed with electronic music.”
Performances of ILLENIUM's “Trilogy: Los Angeles” are scheduled for February 2-3, 2024.
