Troy Ave he has finally faced a judge for his crimes. Last week, he turned himself in for his role in the 2016 shooting at Irving Plaza.
As mentionted with XXL, the Brooklyn, New York rapper was arraigned in Brooklyn Federal Court on Friday (February 9). In a video shared on social media he describes his condition in detail. “I almost ran to court,” he explained. “I might get cheated on, you might not see me for a while. But know that the roads are a myth. All these people who were in the car with me, I ended up taking the guns. Someone shot me and instead of lying down and dying, I was going to be a hero, a martyr, I took the gun and busted it back.”
He then asked his friends and family for support. “Here comes the consequences. But we don't cry over spilled milk. You take the lemons and make lemonade. God is great and paper straight. You will continue to support and continue to run it. And send prayers. prayers count more than anything else.” Since then his social media account has been inactive, raising questions about his freedom.
The publication reached out to Troy Ave's attorney for clarification, and he confirmed that the “All About The Money” rapper is indeed behind bars. “Roland was sentenced on 2/9/24 to one year in jail upon pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon 2nd degree,” the response reportedly said. “According to the law he must serve eight months to serve this sentence. Since he previously spent nearly two months in jail before posting bail, the remaining time he has to serve is just over six months.”
Troy Ave has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the Irving Plaza shooting that killed his friend, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter. In March 2023, media personality Taxstone was convicted of murder, assault and weapons possession. He continues to plead not guilty to murder.
