The Chainsmokers are back with “Addicted”, a house track released today featuring Zerb and Ink.
Musically elegant yet lyrically unrestrained, “Addicted” revels in the darkest and most primal aspects of attraction. Turning unbridled desire into an addiction, the song makes a piercing statement about lust's ability to cloud reason, offering an unapologetic ode to the powerful allure of physical chemistry.
“Addicted” features Ink, who has worked alongside Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Childish Gambino and Stevie Wonder, among many others. His lyrical bravado is a double-edged sword: charmingly arrogant one moment (“the reason you came here tonight”) and teetering on delirium the next (“out of my mind”). It's a worthwhile gamble and reflects the excitement of flirting on the verge of temptation.
The song will most likely appear on a new album by The Chainsmokers, who wrote “TCS6 starts tonight” yesterday in posts on their social networks.
