JoJo Siwa pulled off a crazy move earlier this week when she hit the red carpet at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday in a fierce rock 'n' roll outfit that paid homage to Gene Simmons of KISS. The devil-may-care look included a black and silver bodysuit that was cut out of fabric, a towering fake hawk, terrifying star-shaped eye make-up and black lipstick.
So far, 20-year-old Siwa has not commented on her glam metal makeover, but the first Dancer moms The star is gearing up to release her new single, “Karma,” which is set to drop on Friday (April 5). “Karma's ab–ch, I should've known better/ If I had a wish I'd never hang around/ When I saw the pictures of you and her, I felt the knife twist/ Karma's ab—- / And she's with you now ,” he sings on the song's chorus. The track's video also features Siwa's KISS-y outfit.
The appearance caught the attention of OG Demon, KISS bassist/singer Gene Simmons, who said TMZ that he really liked JoJo's bad girl rocker persona. The site said Simmons praised the edgier look and said the haters don't get it and are probably just jealous. “Never be ordinary. Always be exceptional,” Simmons said. “JoJo is great and looks cool.”
Although KISS recently pulled out of the tour, the group announced on Thursday (April 4) that Swedish label Pophouse had acquired the rights to the band's publishing, recording rights and trademarks, including the iconic KISS logo and makeup design which resembles Kabuki. The deal with the company behind the ABBA Voyage virtual concert in London will also include a virtual KISS show produced by Pophouse, using some of the same technology used in ABBA's hit show.
