The Chainsmokers are proving that their talent goes far beyond hit tunes. They've been making noise with their Mantis Venture Capital fund and their latest venture is a bold investment in MagicX, a startup that leverages artificial intelligence to optimize daily life.
Founded in 2020, Mantis Venture Capital quickly penetrated the market after a $35 million infusion from high-profile backers like Mark Cuban. It has since grown into a multi-faceted fund with investments in sectors ranging from healthcare to music. The company's latest involvement is in MagicX, a “superpower in your pocket” that aims to redefine the way people handle their daily tasks.
This is according to CEO Brad Kowalk, who took x to share their vision of creating “a new app category” that combines cutting-edge design and technology.
“Running your day will become more and more instantaneous,” Kowalk explained. “You won't have to think about what you need to do or who to coordinate with along the way. You'll just say what you want and it will be done. So that's what we're working on: a completely new type of app that combines design and technology in an intuitive and powerful way, so you can manage your daily life with ease.

The Chainsmokers are no strangers to diversification, having previously invested in Hearth, an Austin-based fintech company; and Royal.io, 3LAU's innovative peer-to-peer music royalty marketplace. Their Mantis fund has backed more than 100 companies and their investment in MagicX is the latest sign of the duo's commitment to innovation in the evolving technology landscape.
Alex Pall of The Chainsmokers shared his enthusiasm for the product in a LinkedIn post. “I've been bugging Brad Kowalk and the MagicX team for months to pull back the curtain, and the day has finally come!” he wrote. “I remember using Superhuman or Midjourney for the first time and the mind-blowing experience I had, and this team is creating that same magic but for all of our daily lives!”
