With a name like “Remedy,” Wiwek’s latest track promises a cure for the mundane, injecting listeners with a powerful dose of jungle terror.
True to the spirit of the jungle horror movement he defined, Wiwek’s latest offering is a potent combination of fast-paced beats and frenetic synth design. Notably, the “Killa” producer is making his triumphant return to Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings after a nine-year hiatus.
“Remedy” opens with whistling synths that slice through the air like a referee’s call and quickly sets its pulse with distorted, thumping beats that resonate through the body. The pitched vocals add a sense of controlled chaos, urging us to feel the bass as it accelerates to the surface. The song’s basslines are relentless and generate a kinetic energy that drives its arrangement, a consistent hallmark of the raw, animalistic energy fans have come to expect from the influential Dutch producer.
Wiwek's last release on Revealed was 2015's “Chameleon” alongside Hardwell. His return with “Remedy” not only brings a nostalgic touch to the historic label, but also offers a fresh take on his signature style. Following the release of his new EP, Terror in the jungle, vol. 5Wiwek shows no signs of slowing down in the near future.
