All about Charli's sixth studio album, brat, released on June 7th to huge critical acclaim and commercial success, began with its title and cover: the ubiquitous green square with “brat” printed on it in slightly blurry Arial font. Flipping through her old texts later, Charli searches for the exact day she found the cover. “Okay, I found it,” he finally says, leaning down to share it. “On March 16, 2022, I texted my friends, 'I think it should be just one word on the album cover… Maybe it should be called brat.' When he began writing the album's music about six months later in Mexico City, he used the title as a springboard for the attitude and sass he wanted each song to embody.
