Inviting us on an emotional journey through life's loves and losses, Elderbrook has released his third album, another touch.
The renowned singer-songwriter, producer and keyboardist is known for his innate ability to weave introspective lyricism through atmospheric dance music. With 12 tracks, another touch It is a testimony of that poetry in movement.
The album features collaborations with Carlita, Shimza, nimino and more. Moving but danceable, it is a brilliant example of introspection through infectious rhythms that resonate in the purest Elderbrook style.
Some of the album's highlights include “Sunshine,” a collaboration with Snakehips that promises better days ahead; and “Run”, a hard-hitting song produced with Brazilian electronic music superstar Vintage Culture.
Elsewhere, emotional tracks like “Shallow Water” tastefully contrast with uplifting anthems like “Glad I Found You” (featuring George FitzGerald). That dichotomy underscores the wide range of emotions we all experience as part of the human condition.
“another touch “It's a journey of self-discovery,” Elderbrook explained in a press release. “It starts with someone who has lost themselves so completely that they barely recognize the person in the mirror. Everything is superficial and inconsistent in their life to protect them from anything that might have any real meaning. As the album develops, so does tells the story of our 'hero' who finds new ways to think and reflect on his life and the lessons learned along the way.”
At its existentialist core, the album also explores “how we think about ourselves and our place in the world,” he added. “Who are we when the night ends? When everything calms down and it's time to talk, what do we have to say? [Another Touch is] “A beautiful and thoughtful story about tragedy, loss and finding yourself despite the darkness.”
