Every week, Consequence plays on New Music Friday highlighting new albums to stream. We've made it to November and there are plenty of great new albums to celebrate the month.
Among the highlights is Willie Nelson's 153rd (!) album overall and The Cure's first in 16 years, along with new music from rising artists Thirdface and Until Love. Plus, enjoy an expanded edition of Weezer's self-titled debut album for its 30th anniversary, as well as a brilliant new release from South Korean music collective Balming Tiger.

Balsamic tiger – greatest hits EP
There is no other band like Balming Tiger. These Cosign The students are constantly dedicated to changing expectations of what pop music coming out of South Korea can feel like, and their new EP, cheekily titled greatest hitsis another great example of his dedication to exploration. A sense of humor is constant throughout his work, meaning it makes sense to start with the music video for “Big Butt” and continue from there.

illiterate light – Arches
Virginia duo Illiterate Light have leveled up on their ambitious third album, Arches. They have strayed from the typical characteristics of a two-man rock band by adding psychedelic flourishes, unexpected sonic detours, and vivid, spacious production. For a band that focuses heavily on their innovative live shows, they gave themselves a difficult task with Arches — fortunately, they have the melody and conviction to pull it off.

Mysterious Mount – Night Palace
Celebrated independent veteran Phil Elverum returns to his Mount Eerie moniker with Night Palacea sprawling new album that finds the artist exploring his diverse sonic and thematic interests across 26 new songs. Similar to their acclaimed 2001 effort. The Shining pt. 2, Night Palace It is equal parts existential, poetic and playful. The cure – Songs of a lost world
Finally, The Cure has released Songs of a lost worldtheir first new album in 16 years. It has been a long road for the British group, which originally advanced Songs of a lost world back in 2022 and even embarked on a massive tour that year to precede it. The Cure's resurgence will also continue: Robert Smith recently revealed in an interview that a follow-up to the album is in the works.

Third face – Ministerial Cafeteria
Tennessee hardcore group Thirdface is back with their second album, Ministerial Cafeteria. Through Exploding in Sound Records, the band delivers an exciting mix of traditional rose, grindcore and noise rock. In other words, they become loud, fast, and obnoxious.

So love – All pleasure
The Vermont rockers' second album, Until Love, is an investigative foray into stimulation and pleasure, and it's got enough dopamine to match. Their complicated songs twist and turn into intriguing passages, all tied together by the group's unique blend of genres and Echo Mars' versatile voice.

Weezer – Weezer (The Blue Album) 30th Anniversary Edition
Your eyes do not deceive you; In fact, it's been 30 years since Weezer released their self-titled album. After finishing a tour specifically dedicated to The blue albumThe celebration continues with a whopping 36 unreleased songs that can now be enjoyed in streaming and physical formats.
