It's not every day you hear rap icons on mosh pit-inducing dubstep tracks, but Crankdat and Juicy J are here with their hard-hitting collaboration, “Open The Pit.”
The pair recently premiered the single together at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, where Crankdat sold out a doubleheader in which he said he “achieved the biggest goal.” [he] had set for 8 years.”
The bass music heavyweight, which is preparing to debut an ambitious set in 2025, provided an appropriately frenetic atmosphere. He then ramped up the anticipation to a fever pitch by playing “Open The Pit” at the North Coast Music Festival and Lost Lands.
The track works like this: while Juicy J hypnotizes us with the line “When you hear this song you're going to open the well,” Crankdat fulfills that prophecy with an emphatic dubstep release.
“This song has been three years in the making and getting Juicy J to sing it was a dream come true,” Crankdat said. “Along with the record, we will also be releasing a music video which has been a labor of love to plan and help create, and I can't wait for everyone to see and hear it.”
The music video is inspired by grand theft carwhich will surely have many online asking, “Do we have Crankdat GTA before GTA 6?”
