Well, now we might have an explanation for Nick Cannon's behavior.
Talking to me People magazinethe 44-year-old serial seed distributor and father of 12 shared his new mental diagnosis, narcissistic personality disorder.
Kanon already revealed that he was a neurodeviant.
“I still don't understand it at all, but I've always wanted to test for it. I took a bunch of tests,” Cannon said, adding, “I've been diagnosed with ADHD. Even as a child it was dyslexic, but knowing that I'm just a neurodeviant person, I always knew it.”
So, what is a narcissistic personality disorder? The Mayo Clinic defines the mental diagnosis that is more common in men than women as “a mental health condition in which people have an unreasonably high sense of their own importance,” while constantly seeking admiration and attention.
The clinic's explanation continues, “People with this disorder may lack the ability to understand or care about the feelings of others. But behind this mask of extreme self-confidence, they are not sure of their self-esteem and are easily upset by the slightest criticism.” Treated with speech.
He sounds pretty much like Nick Cannon.
This is not the first time that Nick Cannon has spoken about narcissistic personality disorder
Cannon opened up about how he's dealing with the diagnosis, telling the magazine that accepting the condition helps the healing process.
“I feel like there are so many labels out there, but it's like I can embrace it and say, 'Look, I'm healing. I need help. Show me.' I just embrace mental health and healing so strongly,” Cannon said. “Being able to say that I'm an example for others, but also healing during the self-process also works.”
The masked singer The host first revealed he had a “clinical diagnosis” during a Nov. 8 episode of his podcast Consultant Culture while talking with the psychologist Dr. Cheyenne Bryant.
The multi-linker also notes that he doesn't accept being labeled a narcissist because of the negative connotations the term carries.
“I've taken all the power out of the term narcissism because I've researched it and I understand it,” Cannon told Bryant. “Tell me what you want…now if I didn't know what it was then I do [an] matter of it.”
We appreciate the honesty coming from Cannon about his mental health.
