Dame Dash he is seeking some leniency regarding his child support payments Rachel Roy. He says he is struggling and can no longer afford to pay her the current amount.
TMZ is reference that the Harlem, New York native no longer claims to be a Cake-A-Holic. This week he made a formal request asking for his monthly settlement with his ex-wife Rachel Roy to be significantly reduced. The business tycoon says he has yet to recover from the pandemic and has been struggling since the middle of 2020. Dame Dash claims many of his businesses have yet to take off, resulting in him only earning an alarmingly low $5,140 dollars for all of 2023. His previous child support agreement required him to pay her $5,000 a month.
Rachel doesn't buy his poor story and says he's hiding his income. He says he still receives revenue from his Roc-A-Fella Records track that features some of Kanye West and Jay-Z's best work. In addition, he says he has other ventures that bring him money, such as a streaming service, a liquor company, a clothing brand, and more.
During a segment of The CEO SHOW in October he openly discussed his business struggles. “I had to start [a] new company from scratch, with no money to start it,” he said. “I had to do it [by] rubbing two sticks together. So I can't pay three or four hundred thousand a year in child support because I don't do that. But I'm not ashamed of it because I have things to show for it, but it hasn't benefited yet. I'm like a proud bookie, but it's not broken, because I've got things to show for it.”
A judge has yet to rule on Dame Dash's request for a lower child support payment arrangement.
