This is the 4th full length studio LP from Stratford, Connecticut Emcee/Producer Donnie Menace. Appeared in 2008 from his debut mixtape The threat and frontman of the collective Nitebreed, would later go on to establish himself with the debut full-length The fury of a threat followed by his 2nd tape The Threat 2: Audio Sickness & his sophomore effort Bound by chaos. However, a year and a half ago, Donnie's latest album and debut on Lyrikal Snuff Productionz Chainsaws & Bombareceived significant recognition compared to his previous material which joined groups such as his Gorge & E=MC Skelter. But for his sophomore effort on LSP, Donnie returns with a sequel to his debut for the Denver gore hop label.
“The Boomsticks Reloaded” is a dirty, self-produced 2-minute boom bap opener that unloads deadly battle bars on everyone, while “Talk to the Chainsaw” keeps the kicks and snares in tact for a follow-up to the crowd-pleasing “Talk to the Boomstick” from Donnie's latest album. White Cheddar's “Take 'Em Out” seems to beat all competition for an organic boom bap instrumental just before “Omen” samples Ann Peebles' “Trouble, Heartaches & Sadness” which he spits out bad shit.
MMMFD joins Donnie for the bloodthirsty “Let Them All Rot” which starts off bringing pain and doom leading into “Run It Back” which goes completely drumless, bringing it hard-hitting lyrically. “Another Scumbag Anthem” from Nitebreed almost lives up to the name returning conceptually to boom bap, but then “Watch You Suffer” shifts gears into trap territory tackling more horror themes.
“Where are you;” featuring Lex the Hex Master finds the 2 east coast lyricists joining forces for a hard hitting anthem assuring everyone they ain't going nowhere while “Catchin' the Bullets” gives me mobster vibes from the instrumental to the theme from a gangster's point of view. “SMBTMD (Suck My Balls Through My Drawers)” featuring the Super Famous Fun Time Guys says it all goes for an old school vibe, while “Body Shop” ends the album properly if you don't count the “Lair of the Cenobites” remix . with a dirty boom bam joint for dead bodies.
The first Chainsaws & Bomba it was easily the most refined work compared to his previous material, and the follow-up here is just as enjoyable as its predecessor a year and a half ago. The production focuses mainly on boom bam with some trap tones and a tight guest list on top of the lyricism that goes from braggadocio to gangsta swagger and even killer.
