Quinta Brunson's hit sitcom will return on February 7th
Abbott Elementary will be back soon, but some of the beloved characters are trying out new personas for the school year. The hit sitcom returns to ABC with a one-hour block of episodes on February 7.
In the new trailer, typically incompetent manager Ava Coleman (Janelle James) is back for the new year with a whole new perspective on her job. He took a course at Harvard over the summer having “learned what it really takes to do the principal's job.” She has the glasses and Harvard sweatshirt to prove it, though it seems her teachers are quickly tiring of her strict new rules. They even send Ava's crush Gregory (Tyler James Williams) to seduce her at one point, to no avail.
As for the situation of Gregory and Janine (played by series creator Quinta Brunson), the trailer only teases updates about their relationship at will. At the end of season two, they confessed their feelings, but Janine ultimately chose to focus on herself instead of getting into a new relationship. In the trailer, more updates are hinted at from the summer. Janine reveals that she's been trying more curses for the new year.
Abbott ElementaryHis final season was delayed by the WGA and SAG strikes last year. Ahead of the new season, Branson won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
