Crankdat has announced “MFU,” a new touring theater production that he calls his “biggest screwball shows of all time.”
In just five words, the dubstep and bass star summed up the production perfectly: “Two big middle fingers.” And not just any middle finger: animatronics that “shoot various SFX,” according to Crankdat, which plans to bring them to four cities next year.
He took to social media to share a teaser that gives fans a sneak peek at what the intricate structures will look like. And of course, in true Crankdat style, the ad includes an edited video of middle fingers tapping at famous spots like Chicago's Cloud Gate, known as The Bean.
While the production of “MFU” is reminiscent of Crankdat's tongue-in-cheek remix of Taylor Swift's “Antihero,” titled “STFU,” the shows are likely to feature many of her beloved remixes and originals. He recently released an arsenal of reworks on a new mixtape, REMIX MACHINE VOL. 2.
“MFU” will begin March 28 in Denver before traveling to Dallas, Chicago and Columbus. While Crankdat's list of cities is currently limited to just those four, it promised in the fine print of its post that more cities and venues will be joining the tour soon.
