Acid Klaus' past forays have seen him continue the momentum from the success of his debut album Step On My Traveler: The Imagined Career Trajectory of Superstar DJ & Dance Pop Producer, Melvin Harris. From touring dark basement clubs to playing the Royal Albert Hall with Roisin Murphy, to blowing up the turrets at Château Comtal in Carcassonne at Andrew Weatherall's Convenanza festival.
Adrian Flanagan (The Moonlandingz / Eccentronic Research Council) and his friends, aka Acid Klaus – appear as an uncompromising but heroic rave ghost at all the best parties of the past year. Now they offer the first single “Airports” from an upcoming five-track EP PTSD by proxy, which characterizes Philly Pipera member of his current live band who also performed his latest single “You're A Freak”.
The single is out today (Wednesday 15th May) on Golden Lion Sounds and follows the EP on 15th July (digital) and 6th September (vinyl) respectively.
The EP also features new artists such as Queen of the Sheffield DIY scene Rosey PM and Welsh-speaking singer/songwriter and regular member of the live band Acid Klaus Rin's catalong with short
prose readings by Adrian's longtime collaborators; Maxine Peake & Lias Saudi (Fat White Family / Moonlandingz).
“The EP is my artistic response to the horrific sight forced upon me as the earth wobbles dangerously on its axis like a drunk and foul-mouthed broken and broken aunt. It's dance music you can cry too – or if you see it blank you refuse to look out the window – just because you're dancing, while remaining in a state of 'pig-ignorant' bliss, says Flanagan.
“For me as an artist, it's important that one documents this time of great historical chaos, using ethereal voices, robotic sonics, beats, street poetry, space chants and clever synth lines, while still remaining deep in the frozen moment of reality. ”
The full tracklist for the EP is as follows:
“The solution”
“Airports” (Ft Philly Piper)
“Pour Some Wood On The Fire” (Ft Cat Rin)
“Losing Our Way” (Ft Rosey PM & Maxine Peake)
“Hell Below” (Ft Lias Saoudi)
Acid Klaus are confirmed to play the following live dates: (full UK tour later in the year to be confirmed around official EP release date)
17 May – Hull Adelphi (headline show)
27 July – Seek Out festival Lancashire (headline reception)
