Alber-K has returned with his second single of the year, teaming up with Nino Lucarelli to release his new stunner “Imperfect The Same.”
The infectious dance track follows Alber-K’s previous single from 2024, “Stay,” which has amassed over one million streams on Spotify since its release in February, resonating deeply with the artist’s growing audience.
A rising DJ and producer, as well as a music technology researcher and engineer, Alber-K got his first big break in his teens, performing in some of Brussels' most prestigious clubs at the age of 15. This led him to study sound. engineering and applied sciences in London, followed by electronic engineering studies in Atlanta. He has supported artists such as Oliver Heldens, Malaa and Jay Hardway on the live circuit and strives to combine his deep experience in music technology with his passion as a dance music producer.
With prestigious collaborations with artists such as KAAZE, Burak Yeter, DubVision and Raiden, Lucarelli is the perfect vocalist for “Imperfect The Same”, a song about how people's differences and struggles can bring them together.
Driven by Alber-K's infectious production, “Imperfect The Same” immediately springs into action with a series of intimate string melodies that combine with Lucarelli's powerful vocals. Alber-K surprises with the arrangement of the dance-pop melody while combining organic instruments with bright synths to achieve an infectious result.
“The phrase 'We're Imperfect The Same,' which is the origin of the song, evokes the fact that differences and struggles bring us together,” Lucarelli explained. “The lyrics surrounding this song describe a failed relationship because it focuses on imperfections, differences and problems instead of what unites us. It is a metaphor for the bad vibes of the world: wars, crises, depressions, exhaustion , etc.; we always complain and focus on the negative aspects of life, instead of the positive ones.
“The lyrics written by Nino Lucarelli really touched me and inspired me to reinterpret the relationship between technology and humans,” adds Alber-K. “At the time I created this song, there was talk of AI taking over music. Originally, technologies allowed us to produce or create things that were often imperfect, which humans could then improve. It’s all part of an artistic process. But once again, creativity, humanity and positivity will save us. Nino’s vision and mine came together to give birth to this song. My biggest wish behind this piece is that people who listen to it have a great summer.”
