A listing in the official. Van Halen Store The website has now revealed more information about siblingswhich is described as a “love letter” to Alex's younger brother, the late guitar god Eddie Van Halen, and which was written alongside New Yorker The writer Ariel Levy.
The official description on the Van Halen store website reads:
“In his raspy but sweet voice, Alex recounts the brothers' childhood, first in the Netherlands and then in working-class Pasadena, California, with an itinerant musician father and a very appropriate Indonesian-born mother, the kind of mother who admonished her. children to “always wear a suit” no matter how famous they became: a woman who was both proud and practical, indifferent to taking a doggy bag from a star-studded dinner party. She also shares stories about music politics, infighting, and plenty of bad boy behavior. But, above all, theirs is a story of brotherhood, music and lasting love.”
Furthermore, an excerpt from Alex Van Halen himself says: “I was with him from day one. We share the experience of coming to this country and figuring out how to fit in. We share a record player, an 800 square foot house, a mom and dad, and a work ethic. Later, we shared the back of a tour bus, alcoholism, the experience of becoming famous, becoming fathers and uncles, and spending more hours in the studio than I've spent doing anything else in this life. “We share a deep understanding that most people can only hope to achieve in their lifetime.”
The description also adds that “there has never been an accurate account of them or the band” and that “Alex wants to set the record straight about Edward's life and death.” The book will also include never-before-seen photographs from Alex's private archive.
