This is the 3rd EP from Ohio horrorcore trio Alla Xul Elu. Comprised of Billy Obey as well as Joey Black & Lee Carver, they broke out in 2015 as a duo releasing their first 2 albums. Head of Horns & Sci-Co the same year. This was followed up with their 4/20 themed debut EP Necronomichron in 2017 and adding Carver shortly after, but it wasn't until Twiztid signed them to Majik Ninja Entertainment in 2018 that Xul Boys' music just got better and better. Their MNE debut The Almighty is arguably the best horror album of the 2010s, 2019's second EP Church Xul took a much darker approach, Maxuleum made the top 10 of the Best Releases of 2020 list, despite ditching their signature boom bap sound for a more industrial, trap metal direction and Necronomiconchron 2: Dead by Bong was a superior follow-up to their 4/20 EP. However, before the weekend of Camp Xul 4, the party begins to open the doors The Magic Xul Bus.
The title track is a dark boom bap opener to kick off the EP with all 3 members trading the mic back and forth with each other taking the Xuligans on a trip on The Magic Xul Bus itself, while “Smoke Stop” works with more kicks and snares over an ominous loop so they can talk stoned. “Fucked Up” is an electronic trap production, organically admitting they were too wild at the party, until “Buried Alive” ends the EP with pianos, kicks and snares getting to the bad shit.
The upcoming Mike E. Clark-produced album Xul has been rumored for a while to be the MNE trio's final release, and hopefully we'll get an official update on that from AX themselves during their event at the end of the week , but in any case, The Magic Xul Bus is sure to satisfy the Xuligans who have waited just over 3 years to release new material excluding Lost Lakes Estates trying to work with the protégé Super Famous Fun Time Guys about 9 months ago. At just 12 minutes, they return to their horrorcore/boom bap styling occasionally expanding their sound beyond trap.
