Amazon is adding a splash of color to its Kindle lineup. The company introduced a fleet of new Kindles last week, including the Kindle Colorsoft and an updated Kindle Scribe.
You can download thousands of e-books to Kindle, including musical bestsellers such as Lisa Marie Presley From here to the Great Unknown, Brothers by Alex Van Halen and Britney Spears: The Woman in Me.
Kindle Colorsoft, the first Kindle to feature a 7-inch color screen, was meticulously designed to deliver rich, paper-like color using an oxide backplane “with custom waveforms for fast performance and higher contrast in both color and black—and— white content', per Amazon.

Introducing the Amazon Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition (32GB)
With Kindle Colorsoft, you can view color e-books and images and highlight color pages. Equipped with 32GB of storage, the e-reader retails for $279 and will be released on October 31st. It's available for pre-order now.
The new Kindle Scribe features AI capabilities, a 300 ppi, non-glare display for faster page turns and a higher contrast ratio. At its maximum setting, Kindle Scribe's front light is 25 percent brighter than the previous model. The Kindle Scribe ($399) launches on December 4.

New Amazon Kindle Scribe (16GB) – Redesigned screen with uniform borders. Includes Premium pen
Active Canvas, another new feature, lets you annotate directly on the text. The device summarizes pages and notes for you and organizes them into concise bullet points, and you can change the font of your notes to look more like handwriting. Other features include new white borders, a Premium pen with a softer eraser designed to mimic a real pencil, and a screen with a “smooth, paper-like texture.”
Amazon also introduced the new Kindle Paperweight, Kindle Paperweight Kids, and the original Kindle in a matcha-inspired shade ($109.99). The upgraded Kindle Paperweight, its fastest version yet, has 16GB of storage and is available in raspberry, jade and black.
The Kindle Paperweight Signature Edition — available in metallic raspberry, metallic jade, and metallic black — has 32GB, optional wireless charging, and automatic front light adjustment.
The new Kindle lineup was announced on the heels of Amazon's Audible promotion that launched earlier this month. With the limited offer, new customers can sign up for Audible Premium Plus for just $0.99 per month for three months. Register here.
