Following the release of the bubbly, dance-pop single “Looking For Love,” Anitta and Brazilian DJ Alok have released a music video that depicts the friendly rivalry of their fanbases. In the video, which dropped Monday, Alok and Anitta each compete for fan’s attention and the top spot as the most recognized Brazilian artist, as a views meter tracks their popularity.
The single fuses Alok’s electronic dance sound with Anitta’s Latin pop vocals and describes the unadulterated desire to develop a new connection as Anitta sings the contagious hook, “That’s why I’ll keep looking for love, keep looking, looking.”
“We have been talking about this collaboration since 2017,” Anitta told Rolling Stone in a statement. “But we never managed to carry out this project. Now, Alok and I are very happy to show “looking for love” to the world. I believe our fans will love it.”
Alok told Rolling Stone that the lyrics also describe a “yearning” for attention and the admiration we seek on social media platforms. The duo filmed the music video in São Paulo.
“It’s a collaboration long awaited by Anitta and I, but also by the Brazilian fans,” Alok said. “Now we have the opportunity to reach both of our audiences by releasing a song in both English and Spanish. It’s something totally different from what we would have done years ago; but we’ve both matured artistically, and the product is “Looking for Love.”

Last month, Anitta and the Weeknd released the Brazilian funk single “São Paulo,” along with a body horror-inspired music video, which featured a pregnant Anitta strutting in stilettos around the Brazilian city. Following the release of Funk Generation on April 26, Anitta performed “Savage Funk” off the album at the MTV Video Music Awards in September, along with songs “Alegria” and “Paradise.”
In April, Alok released The Future is Ancestral, a project that took more than 500 hours of studio time and included vocals from various Indigenous community members across Brazil.
The Brazilian stars each received two nominations at the Latin Grammys this year, with Anitta getting a nod for Mil Veces in the “Record of the Year” category.
