With an uncanny ability to create an ecstatic mood through her music, the inimitable Anna Lunoe is set to release her debut album, Pearl.
It's a big moment for the prolific Australian artist, who says she's exposing her art in ways fans haven't seen yet.
“When I first started out in dance music as a local DJ, my dream was to fill dance floors and pay the rent,” Lunoe said in a press release. “As my career expanded and the industry changed and I was faced with new challenges, I always felt like my voice as an artist had to be secondary to my needs as a DJ. So in a way, this marks a colossal shift in the outlook of my career to date, bringing my art to the forefront in a way it never has before.”
Lunoe, who will soon be supporting The Weeknd on his Australian tour, is known for her versatility as a producer, creating exciting dance music with roots in house, garage, techno and more. Following the July release of “Only love“She's now back on Nina Las Vegas' NLV Records with “Pearl,” the title track from the new album.
Though her production is heavy, Lunoe infuses an ethereal softness into the uplifting single to deliver an upbeat track, ideal for both a sunny stroll or a sweaty dance floor. The record, she says, finds her at her “most sincere.”
“For me, the sentiment of this song is about striving for spirit and creative force in a world that isn't designed for us to hold on to them,” Lunoe said in a press release. “Sonically, it was an exercise in emotion and clarifying a feeling, rather than making clubby tunes. It's more honest than I've allowed myself to be publicly before, but the few who get to hear my scruffy demos know Anna well.”
