A group of criminals pulled off the biggest heist ever in Los Angeles. Thieves stole nearly $30 million in cash from an exploitation facility on Easter Sunday.
As spotted on raw story, the burglars brought the plot from the Ocean's Eleven in real life. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) says the crew broke into a money storage facility in the Sylmar neighborhood. According to a source who spoke with the Los Angeles Times, The unknowns invaded the roof of the building and avoided the security system all together. Once inside, they reportedly entered the vault without a problem and made off with nearly $30 million in cash.
The perpetrators were so experienced that the facility's staff did not immediately notice the money was missing. “It's crazy you'd never suspect it,” an unnamed employee he said ABC News. “$30 million in the valley, gone. How? Why; I'm still trying to process it. Was it an inside job? Was it just one person? Was it a team? You know, there are a lot of questions.” The LAPD and FBI confirmed they are working and “conducting a joint investigation into an alleged burglary that occurred on the evening of Sunday, March 31, 2024. There is no additional information available regarding the incident,” the agencies confirmed in a joint statement.
