Bang Chan & Felix Chat 'ATE' Premiere, Song Picks & More on Apple Music 'All About Stray Kids Radio': First Look

While K-pop artists tend to use a series of photos and video clips to get fans excited for new music, the members of Stray Kids are taking to the airwaves of Apple Music to share more about the upcoming group ATE album.

In its opening episode All about Stray Kids Radio (which premieres today, July 8, on Apple Music 1), members Bang Chan and Felix share new details about the group's upcoming mini album ATE (out July 19th), reflect on their latest single and discuss the latest playlist additions, current favorites, and other information about SKZ's music.

says Felix ATEIts general idea is “something we haven't done”. Bang Chan agrees, adding that not only is the title song fresh but “many other songs [are] Also, everything is very different… what we recorded just shows a different side of Stray Kids.”

In their charming Aussie accents, the musical partners also discussed why the 'Stray Kids Version' of their latest Billboard Hot 100 hit, Charlie Puth's 'Lose My Breath', was 'a little bit more special'. Additionally, the duo share the other songs on their current playlist, including Avril Lavigne's “Complicated,” Linkin Park's “New Divide,” King Gnu's “Ichizu,” and “Wake Me Up!” by Avicii.

On what fans can expect ATE:

Felix: It has been about nine months since we made our return.

Bang Chan: Yes, it was, what? eight months;

Felix: We did [“Lose My Breath”] So, like, you know, sure fans might be like, “Oh, bro, like, what idea or what color are they going to have for this comeback album?” But I definitely think that's something we haven't done, like… this is our first time doing this kind of concept. And the music style is also very different. But then you can say, “Oh wow, so this song… it's definitely Stray Kids style.” You know what I mean;

Bang Chan: It's something we've never done before — but, you know, not just with the title track… a lot of other songs as well, they're all very different. But, you know, in the end, this is what we built. What we recorded. It just shows a different side of Stray Kids.

Felix: I think we matched the song really well.

Bang Chan: Yes Yes Yes. Everyone did a great job.

Felix: It matches our color very well.

About “Lose My Breath (Stray Kids Version)”:

Bang Chan: With all eight of our voices coming out on the song, I feel like it's a little bit more special. You know what I mean; Also, it's a very different Stray Kids song.

Felix: Yeah, it's not like a song we'd always do. But, again, because we're doing it, I feel like we did a good job recording and preparing for this song.

Bang Chan: Most of the time, I would be, you know, 3RACHA would direct this song. But everyone did a really good job, so, um, big shout out to all the members. And also, you know, I feel like, because, you know, the weather is so hot these days… 'Lose My Breath', it kind of cools you down when you listen to the song in this hot weather.

Felix: Yes. As hot as it is, like 35 degrees [Celsius]it's still good to hear, you know?

Bang Chan and Felix's Favorite Stray Kids Songs:

Felix: What is your favorite Stray Kids song?

Bang Chan: Bro, it's so hard! I can not choose! [Laughs.] do you have one

Felix: I have… actually, [my favorite was] “DOMINO.”

Bang Chan: “DOMINO”; “DOMINO” is very good. “DOMINO” is my alarm clock.

Felix: Truth;!

Bang Chan: Because they are so strong from the start. [Singing.] And it wakes me up right away. I'm like, “A!”

Bang Chan and Felix Talk Hobbies:

Felix: Is there anything you're interested in these days?

Bang Chan: Oh, interesting… I don’t know… you know, I was playing Genshin a lot these days.

Felix: Genshin a lot, yes. Same here.

Bang Chan: Sometimes when you take out your console in the program[s]we play Tekken together. Um, what else? I was interested in football.

Felix: Have you played football?

Bang Chan: Mm-hmm.

Felix: Oh yes, you have.

Bang Chan: Yes. Futsal with members, some other mates.

Felix: Oh! Yes.

Bang Chan: Um, what else am I doing? I'm trying to work out more often these days.

Felix: Oh. Oh, then you have more hobbies… You have, like, three hobbies then.

Bang Chan: I think so.

Felix: Like, gymnastics, soccer and so on Genshin.

Bang Chan: To be honest, yes. This makes sense. Because, I mean, you know me. I think a lot. And then I try to get out of my head — I try to, you know, find all these hobbies [Laughs.]

Felix: That's good, man.
