BEABADOOBEE has announced their third studio album, This is how tomorrow moves, will be released via his former Dirty Hit label on August 16. The album finds Beabadoobee advancing to a new level in her songwriting skills, creating dazzling melodies and striving to develop and explore new frontiers of vulnerability, both in her storytelling and in her relationship with herself.
Produced by the legendary Rick Rubin and his collaborator and bandmate Jacob Bugden, Beabadoobee swapped his bedroom for his infamous Shangri-La studio in Malibu to create a deeply self-assured record with a vast sonic scope of rock and pop.
He also shares the lead single from the album. Take a bite, complete with a clever video directed by Jake Erland. Composed of taut guitars, piano and a cascade of soft vocals, Take a bite contemplates the desire for chaos and the self-awareness of turning past negative cycles into something new, but still surrendering to them.
Of the single, Beabadoobee explains: “I am the one who feels introspective about my thoughts and my unhealthy lifestyle. It's finding comfort in a familiar place, finding comfort in chaos because that's what I know. That's why I introduce it into all aspects of my life, especially in relationships. And it's just accessing this part of my brain where I jump right into the most negative, chaotic thoughts ever known to man and turn them into my reality.”

This summer, Beabadoobee will be premiering new music on some of the UK's biggest stages: headlining the New Music stage at BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend, headlining the BBC Radio 1 stage at Reading and Leeds festivals, and as the main support act for Mitski at the All in London. East Points Festival. This follows her lead support slot on the first North American leg of Taylor Swift's record-breaking Eras Tour.
This is how tomorrow moves is a testament to Beabadoobee's artistic evolution and resilience, marking an important milestone in his career. He captures a journey through confidence and introspection, with themes of self-acceptance and personal growth woven throughout; in parts a love letter to her younger self and everything she's been through.
About This Is How Tomorrow MovesBeabadoobee feels comfortable taking the reins of the next stage of her life: “I love this album” she simply says, “I feel like it's helped me navigate this new era, this new understanding of where I am, more than anything else. “I guess it’s about becoming a woman.”
“I think I'm more aware of my actions in these songs,” she adds. “On my previous records, I was constantly singing about my reaction to other people's actions, like a blame game. But on this album, it's accepting that my guilt is also inevitable. Whether it’s childhood trauma or relationship issues, it takes two to tango through anything.”
