This can be one of the most ridiculous ways to respond to allegations of sexual misconduct.
X-Men 97 Showrunner Beau DeMayo has vowed to address the serious allegations Disney/Marvel Studios have dismissed after DeMayo accused the studios of taking away his writing credit on the popular Disney+ animated series.
That day finally arrived, but for whatever ridiculous reason, DeMayo locked his response behind his OnlyFans account.
Deadline exclusively reports that DeMayo claims that “These allegations of egregious misconduct are false,” criticizing Disney and Marvel for the “toxic environment” and “almost criminal working conditions” that “turn individuals against each other, spark the paranoia to ensure compliance'.
DeMayo's claims come after Disney/Marvel Studios revealed he was fired following a misconduct investigation over the “optimistic nature of the findings” after he claimed his firing was due to sharing risqué fan art.
According to reportsword on the streets of Disney is that DeMayo allegedly sent nude photos of himself X-Men '97 colleagues and got along well with some of them.
Per Deadline:
Today, as attorney Bryan Freedman filed an expedited jury trial seeking a complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court to remove an alleged “illegal non-disparagement provision” from the writer's severance package documents, DeMayo took to OnlyFans to call the BS in Kevin Feige's Marvel. and Disney under the leadership of Bob Iger.
“The rumors being spread around me on the Internet are lies and they are offensive, but more disturbingly, they are a smear campaign designed to discredit my credibility in order to cover up the gross malicious misconduct perpetrated by select crew members on the X -Men '97, all the way to the top at Marvel Studios,” DeMayo said in his nearly 30-minute on-camera remarks on the often lucid subscription social media platform.
Admitting that “personality clashes happen, especially in creative environments like Hollywood,” DeMayo also acknowledged that he's long known he's “not everyone's cup of tea.”
However, long story short, DeMayo claimed today that “he's gay, black and open about it at Marvel Studios” and was the real issue the company had with him and why he was kicked out and later saw his credits for the upcoming second season of the mutant saga was removed. In fact, noting the timing of his departure, DeMayo says it wasn't until after his initial conversation with the HR firm that he “no longer felt safe in the studio as a gay black man” that he was shown the door.
Very interesting.
