Barack Obama is having a Brat Summer. The former president revealed his picks for the 2024 Summer Playlist on Monday (August 12) as the season winds down.
“With summer winding down, I wanted to share some songs I've been listening to lately — and it wouldn't be my playlist if it didn't include an eclectic mix,” Obama wrote on social media. “I hope you find something new to listen to!”
It's the multifaceted mix for Barack Obama, who chose tracks like Shaboozey's Billboard Hot 100 No. Brat closer “365” and Beyoncé's anthem “Texas Hold 'Em.”
Other entries include “Wanna Be” by GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion, “My Best” by Saweetie, “Love Me Jeje” by Tems, “Whiskey Whiskey” by Moneybagg Yo and Morgan Wallen, “How Do U Want It” by 2Pac and Common's “The People”.
While some applauded Obama's picks, others were surprised to see no Chappell Roan picks or an appearance from Kendrick Lamar's explosive “Not Like Us” diss Drake, which remained a staple in the Hot 100's top three.
“Now Barry… you know you've been listening to 'Not Like Us' all summer like the rest of us, but we'll allow it,” one person commented on his IG.
Another added: “Now Barack, I know you've listened to Not Like Us at least 30 times this summer.”
“My man,” Shaboozey wrote after learning Obama included him on the playlist. “A Bar Song” also spends a fifth week atop the Hot 100.
Moneybagg Yo was thrilled to hear he made the cut. “S/O to the Presidential Laff @barackobama This big thank you,” she captioned IG story.
