Lionsgate has offered first look at director Rupert Sanders’ upcoming remake of The Crow, starring Bill Skarsgård and FKA twigs.
The Crow first arrived as a comic book by James O’Barr in 1989. In the story, Eric Draven and his fiancée Shelly are murdered by a gang after their car breaks down. Draven is resurrected by a crow and seeks vengeance on the gang, stalking and killing each member with the crow as his guide. The story was immortalized in Alex Proyas’s 1994 film starring Brandon Lee, who was tragically killed on set by a prop gun.
Sanders’ reimagining of The Crow, which stars Skarsgård as Eric Draven/The Crow and FKA twigs as Shelly, is set to hit theaters on June 7th, 2024.
Skarsgård most recently appeared in John Wick: Chapter 4, and will also soon be seen Robert Eggers’ upcoming gothic horror film, Nosferatu. Meanwhile, FKA twigs is teasing the release of a new techno-inspired album due out later this year.
