BTS member RM has released a new single, “Come Back To Me,” along with a music video for the track. The song previews the singer's upcoming solo album, Right place, wrong personreleased May 24.
RM first unveiled “Come Back To Me” last summer with a surprise appearance at BTS bandmate Suga's concert in Seoul. At the time, he introduced the track as one of his favorites from his new project, even though it was still untitled. RM wrote the lyrics for the song, while OHHYUK from South Korean band HYUKOH composed and arranged the track, and Kuo from Taiwanese band Sunset Rollercoaster contributed guitar and bass. Singer/songwriter JNKYRD and San Yawn from Balming Tiger are also credited.
The song's music video was written, directed and produced by Lee Sung Jin, who directed the Netflix show Beef. Starring Kim Minha, known for her role in the Apple TV+ show Pachinko.
A press release notes, “Through 'Come Back To Me,' RM explores the new album's central theme of 'right and wrong,' delving into the paradoxical desire to venture into new territory while yearning to remain content in present”.
Right place, wrong person It features 11 tracks and marks RM's second solo effort. The press release describes it as an exploration of “relatable sensations and moments of feeling foreign, out of place.” The album follows the December 2022 album Indian, standouts like “Wild Flower” with Youjeen, “Still Life” with Anderson .Paak and “Yun” with Erykah Badu. He also dropped a 7-track mini-album in 2018.
RM and his BTS bandmates are currently completing their required military service in South Korea and are expected to reunite in 2025. “What I'm thinking about right now is, these days, when I do my solo projects, is that like vacation to go back to where I was, which was BTS and ARMY,” RM said in August 2023.
Last month, BTS announced an anti-bullying campaign with UNICEF. “Now, more than ever, we must try to remember who we are and face who we are,” RM said in a video announcing the collaboration. “We must try to love ourselves and imagine the future.”
