Koulouri B and his wife, Queenie, were the victims of a 2019 home invasion that ended with the gunman being shot and eventually arrested. Confronting the robber in court this week, Bun B became emotional after sharing that his wife is still reeling from the incident.
Local network KTRK aired a report about Bun B testifying in court against defendant Demonte Jackson, an event that took five years to happen as Jackson reportedly struggled with mental health issues. After the Houston rapper and businessman took the stand, he opened up by telling the defense how the 2019 incident was so terrifying that his wife never came home.
From KTRK:
“This was a whole new traumatic incident,” said Bun B. “This is something we're still dealing with to this day.”
“There are moments when they shut her down. She can't communicate, and I get angry all over again because she didn't deserve this. He didn't ask for this,” he continued, visibly moved.
Bun B, real name Bernard Freeman, then began detailing how he finally came to his wife's aid after she warned him not to approach the robber from an upper-level room because he feared Jackson would kill her. Jackson then went to the couple's garage with Bun B opening fire and hitting Jackson, who then fled on foot but was later apprehended by the rapper.
The magazine added in its report that Queenie, real name Angela Walls, was also set to take a stand.
