As the wait for her anticipated sophomore album continues, Cardi B has blasted Joe Budden for criticizing the release of her project and making drug use allegations against him.
The Grammy-winning artist lashed out at the rapper-turned-podcaster during a Twitter Spaces session on Thursday afternoon (July 18).
“Brother, I gave you a lap dance twice at Starlets. You were high as f–k. High as a f–k on coke, n–a… I don't give an af–k when people talk about me,” he said. “It's the fact that you always talk crap about me Joe Budden. Out of nowhere, you'd think I did something to that n—a… For the past two years, that n—a has only been talking bad things about me.”
Cardi B doesn't appreciate Budden allegedly pitting her against other up-and-coming female rappers.
“Every five or six months you compare another female rapper to me, you compare new artists, old artists, every fucking artist to me, bro,” he said. “If you like these b—–s so much, why don't you talk about their album? Compare women with me that my worst records outlasted their best. I don't give af–k about any of that b—–.'
Cardi continued, “But you really want my album out so you can criticize it,” she said. “Because every time I drop something you don't like it. Every time ab-h drops something and does mediocre, you say they do better than me… What do you say? The s–t is on the move. Merchandise is on the move, box sets are on the move. You don't know s–t.”
In a recent podcast, Joe Budden predicted that Cardi B would not release another album in her career, which she disagreed with.
“We're never going to do another album again. I stand by that,” he said. “Cardi had a thing going with my man Rob[49] on Friday, but that will now be Cardi. A single artist.”
Budden added: “I'm sure Offset wants Cardi to release an album. Hey guys out there. Guys, you all know that feeling right? When you want to find a job. You're at home and you won't leave… Don't you have an album to make? Aren't you single?'
Following Cardi's Spaces shenanigans, Budden denied claims of using cocaine and ever getting a dance around her. He also promised that he “will not cover up a single thing this girl does for the rest of her career.”
“I really wanted an album from someone whose music I love,” she wrote on X and eventually apologized to the “WAP” rapper. “She swears at me but she's still hilarious lol…. I'm going to bed, I apologize to @iamcardib for what I did and peace and love to all.”
It's been over six years of Cardi B's Breach of privacy The album arrived in April 2018. Her acclaimed debut topped the Billboard 200 with 255,000 first-week album sales and won Best Rap album at the 2019 Grammy Awards.
While the prospects for her second project remain unknown, Cardi is lining up another fiery flick where she joins Rob49 for “On Dat Money” on Friday (July 19).
