Carín León, Eladio Carrión, Morat and Kidd Voodoo have been added to the 64th annual Viña del Mar International Song festival, organizers announced Friday (November 22) night.
They will join previously announced stars Marc Anthony, Ha*Ash, Carlos Vives, Miryam Hernández, Duki, Sebastián Yatra and Bacilos. The event is scheduled to take place February 23-28 in Viña del Mar, Chile.
“We have developed a lineup for the whole family, with international artists at their peak for younger audiences, as well as classic and historical performers for older ones,” Viña del Mar Mayor Macarena Ripamonti said in a press release. “Each night is proving to be very engaging, allowing those attending Quinta Vergara and the millions watching the festival on TV to enjoy a modern, state-of-the-art event full of innovation that we will be announcing in the coming weeks. ”
Hailing from Hermosillo, Sonora, Carín León is one of the biggest forces behind the local Mexican music wave worldwide. He started his musical journey as a teenager and rose to fame after his solo debut in 2018. Amanecida Con Todo y Con Todos. Colombian band Morat recently completed their Morat: Los Estadios tour in 25 stadiums in different countries, concluding on December 13th at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City. Billed as the world's largest Latin music festival, Viña del Mar spans six days and features a mix of big-name stars, emerging talent and local performers competing for the 'Gaviotas' awards – silver, gold and platinum – judged by a panel and is influenced by viewer feedback.
Since its inception in 1960, the festival has taken place at the Quinta Vergara amphitheater, which has a capacity of 15,000 people and is located in the Valparaíso region on the central coast.
This year introduces a first collaboration between Megamedia and Bizarro Live Entertainment. In addition, Disney+ will broadcast the event live throughout Latin America and Bulletin board is set to provide exclusive global content to the site.
