Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura's husband, Alex Fine, is standing by the singer after CNN released footage of Diddy kicking and dragging her down a hotel hallway in 2016. On Friday, Fine posted a letter on Instagram supporting them survivors, sharing some sharp words about the abusers.
“Men who hit women are not men. The men who enable and protect these people are not men,” the letter read. “As men, violence against women should not be inevitable, check your brothers, your friends and your family. Our daughters, sisters, mothers and wives need to feel protected and loved. Keep the women in your life with [utmost] relationship. Men who hurt women hate women.”
In the letter, he stressed the need to believe in and support survivors of sexual and physical abuse. “To all survivors you are not alone, and there are men and women who only care about your well-being and safety. We want you to succeed and flourish,” Fine wrote. “To all women and children, I am sorry that you live in a world where you are not protected and do not feel equal. I want to raise my daughters in a world where they are safe and loved.”
Finn ended his letter with sharp words to the thugs, though he didn't mention Sean Combs by name: “You're done, you're no longer safe, you're no longer protected, the men next to you are just as weak. , you are so miserable with yourself that death would be considered kindness,” he wrote.
Fine's statement comes after CNN released surveillance footage from 2016 that shows Cassie being dragged, kicked and chased by Combs. The video appears to correspond to an alleged incident from a sex-trafficking lawsuit Cassie filed last November. Ventura noted in her lawsuit that there was video of the alleged assault, but she believed Combs had paid the hotel $50,000 for the video.
“The shocking video further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs,” Ventura's attorney Douglas Wiggore said in a statement Friday. “Words cannot express the courage and fortitude Ms. Ventura displayed in bringing this to light.”
The security footage, which has no sound, shows a barefoot Ventura exiting a hotel room with her personal belongings in hand while wearing an oversized hoodie. In her lawsuit, Ventura claimed she was at the hotel because Combs made her participate in a “frenzy” – where she was forced to have sex with male sex workers while Combs watched. During the ordeal, Combs “punched Mrs. Ventura in the face, giving her a black eye,” the lawsuit alleges, and Ventura waited until Combs was asleep to sneak out of the hotel.
Seconds after Ventura leaves the room, a nearly naked Combs is seen running down the hall after her. Finding Ventura waiting for the elevator, he forcibly grabs her by the back of her sweater and throws her to the ground and kicks her. As Ventura lies on the floor in the fetal position, Combs grabs her bags and kicks her again. He then begins to drag her back towards the hotel room as Ventura is seen yelling.
Combs lets Ventura go and he carries her bags back to the hotel room as she waits near the elevator. Combs then returns and is seen pushing her and throwing a glass object at her. Combs has yet to respond to the unearthed footage and did not respond Rolling rockRequest for comment on Friday.
