Charli XCX and Billie Eilish have donated thousands of pieces of unworn underwear to charity after featuring them in their new music video.
The British pop star recruited the Bad Guy hitmaker for the remix of her song Guess, which features the lyrics, “You wanna guess the colour of my underwear/ you wanna know what I’ve got going on down there.”
For the music video, the singers climb an underwear mountain and roll down it while hundreds of bras and knickers rain down on them from the sky.
In the credits, a message appears announcing that all the unworn undergarments would be donated to survivors of domestic violence through the non-profit organisation I Support The Girls. The U.S.-based charity gives underwear and menstrual products to people experiencing homelessness.
Representatives from the organisation wrote on X, “Wear ’em, post ’em, go donate ’em (And that’s exactly what happened. 10,000 pairs from @charli_xcx is being donated to ISTG).”
They added that their warehouse will be “overtaken” when they receive “the formidable panty mountain”.
The director Aidan Zamiri revealed on Instagram that Charli and Billie only shot the music video on Sunday.
“Big insane music video, 10 thousand panties (give or take), 2 icons of modern music, 1 bulldozer,” he wrote. “We shot this on Sunday btw ! I love everyone involved, so insanely grateful to our cast and crew for making this happen. underwear mountain lives.”
Billie, who rarely collaborates with other artists, thanked Charli for “letting me be a part of dis (sic)” and the 360 hitmaker replied, “(Thank you so much) for being on this track i’m beyond honored. love and respect forever!!! you’re one of a kind.”
Guess is taken from Charli’s new album Brat. She previously teamed up with Lorde for a remix of her song Girl, So Confusing.
