Charli XCX brought songs from the Grammy nominee Brat album to Saturday Night Live on November 16.
The 32-year-old British pop star pulled double duty as both host and musical guest on the iconic NBC sketch comedy show. Between skit jokes, Charli delivered electrifying renditions of “360” and “Sympathy Is a Knife,” both from her sixth album. Brat. The set debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in June and has garnered widespread acclaim, including a Grammy nomination for album of the Year.
Charli's first show opened with a surprise introduction from Uncut gems Starring Julia Fox, who set the stage for the artist's minimalist show '360'. Dressed in dark sunglasses, a black Lou Reed T-shirt, a white skirt, knee-high boots and a matching black purse, Charli struts amongst a lime green backdrop reminiscent of Brat album cover. “360” also won Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Music Video, the latter featuring Fox among a series of star-studded cameos.
For her second song, Charli was introduced by SNL Cast member Bowen Yang (wearing a Vroom Vroom shirt), before launching into a high-energy rendition of “Sympathy Is a Knife.” Dressed in black, Charlie delivered a club-worthy performance in front of a giant white screen with the word 'Party' and 'Girl' emblazoned on the floor in bold letters.
This marks Charli's third appearance SNLfollowing her previous musical guest spots in 2014 and 2022.
Her last SNL The appearance comes on the heels of wrapping up her Sweat tour with Troye Sivan. The 22-show run grossed $28 million and sold 297,000 tickets, according to figures reported by Billboard Boxscore.
