In May 2019, Morgan Wallen's original No. 1 at Advertising signOn the Hot Country Songs chart, “Whiskey Glasses” began a two-week mandate.
“My first No. 1 on Hot Country Songs was on my 26th birthday,” Wallen said Advertising sign when he learned of the May 13 achievement. “This is truly a day I will never forget.”
The track, written by Ben Burgess and Kevin Kadish and produced by Joey Moi, followed Wallen's first Top 10 Hot Country hit, “Up Down” (featuring Florida Georgia Line), which reached No. 5 in June 2018.
For Wallen, 31, of Sneedville, Tenn., “Whiskey Glasses” marked the first of seven Hot Country Songs to date in the top 25 top 10. On Country Airplay, he has scored 12 leaders . “Up Down” became his first No. 1 at radio, and “Whiskey Glasses” his second, for three weeks beginning in June 2019.
The track was originally released on Wallen's debut EP, The way I talk. He is also in the vanguard of the full-length, in 2018 If I Know Mewhich in August 2020 became his first of three No. 1s on Top Country Albums.
Dangerous: The Double album It followed, ruling the Top Country Albums for a record 97 weeks as of January 2021. One thing at a time reached 2023 and reigned for 48 weeks, atop the all-genre Billboard 200 for 19 weeks – the longest ever for a country title.
Wallen is featured on Post Malone's new single, “I Had Some Help,” which is set to storm the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts dated May 25.
