After more than four decades in the business, Cher has another hit on her hands. The music icon's upcoming autobiography, Cher: The Memoir, hit No. 1 on Amazon this week, but isn't out for another few months.
Cher: The Memoirthe first of a two-part autobiography, will be released on November 19. The second book is expected to be released sometime in 2025.
“With her trademark honesty and humor, Cher: The Memoir traces how this gem in the rough succeeded with no plan and little self-confidence to become the top superstar the world couldn't ignore for more than half a century,” the publisher, William Morrow Group, an imprint of Harper Collins, said in a statement. on Wednesday (July 24).
According to the description, The Memoirs it follows Cher's “great start” from childhood to meeting and marrying ex-husband and musical partner, Sonny Bono, and sheds light on the duo's “very complicated relationship that made them world famous, but ultimately broke them up.”
The couple married in 1964 and divorced in 1975. After the split, Cher pursued her solo career and Bono became a politician. He died in a skiing accident in 1998.
Beyond her personal life, the memoir paints a complete picture of Cher as a mother, sister, wife, daughter and superstar.
The book currently tops Amazon's bestseller list in the popular music and actor and entertainer biographies categories.
