Hollywood isn't the only industry concerned about the dangers of AI. The music industry is also tired of technology.
It has been detected DeadlineThe Artists Rights Alliance wrote an open letter that garnered over 200 signatures from big names in the entertainment and music industries, calling on AI companies and digital streaming platforms to stand down “that undermine or replace the human artistry of songwriters and artists or denying us fair compensation for our work.”
The site reports that Billie Eilish, her brother Finneas, Nicki Minaj, the estates of Bob Marley and Frank Sinatra, Smokey Robinson, Katy Perry, REM, Chuck D, Camila Cabello, J Balvin and others have signed the letter that he lives Medium.
The letter calls on “artificial intelligence developers, technology companies, digital music platforms and services to stop using artificial intelligence (AI) to infringe and undermine the rights of human artists.”
He also points out that AI can be beneficial, adding: “Make no mistake: we believe that, when used responsibly, AI has enormous potential to advance human creativity and in a way that enables the development and growth of new and exciting experiences for music fans everywhere.
“Unfortunately, some platforms and developers are using AI to undermine creativity and undermine artists, songwriters, musicians and rights holders.”
The letter adds that it wants to “protect against the aggressive use of artificial intelligence to steal the voices and likenesses of professional artists, violate the rights of creators, and destroy the music ecosystem.”
AI was a major issue in the SAG-AFTRA and Writer's Guild strikes, which dragged on for several months before both entities agreed on major sticking points.
In the music industry, AI is used in production and mastering, while independent artists use the tool to help compose songs.
