Earlier this year, Coldplay's ongoing Music Of The Spheres tour was named the biggest rock tour ever by Billboard Boxscore as it topped $1 billion in revenue. Now it's set to expand even further as Coldplay have announced a show in Ahmedabad, India that the band are calling their “biggest” concert ever.
The show will be held on January 25, 2025 at the city's Narendra Modi Stadium, which can hold up to 132,000 spectators, and will have a “mystery guest” to be announced soon. tickets for the show will go on sale at 12 p.m. IST (India Standard Time) on Saturday (November 16) tour/ET00418889″>here. The band previously announced three concerts to be held at Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium in the same week.
Modi Stadium, which opened in 2020, usually hosts sporting events such as cricket as well as political events. named after the country's prime minister, who has held the position since 2014.
It will mark the final show on Coldplay's Music Of The Spheres tour, which first kicked off in 2022 and is set to run through 2025. The British band recently released their 10th studio album Music of the Moonwhich was simultaneously found in No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and the UK Official album Chartbecoming the first British team to do so since 2016.
In recent weeks the band has been touring Australia and the 2024 dates will wrap up on Saturday in Auckland, New Zealand. The dates will be repeated in Abu Dhabi on January 9.
During a show at Sydney's Accor Stadium over the weekend, the band briefly covered Travis Scott's “Goosebumps” in their set, which frontman Chris Martin called “his favorite” song by the “Sicko Mode” rapper. Scott responded to the shout-out and the cover by saying the band “totally got it”.
Elsewhere, Martin had an accident at an earlier tour stop in Melbourne when he fell through a hole in the stage, although he laughed it off.
Next year's run of shows will include a string of North American summer dates and is currently set to conclude with a 10-night stand at London's Wembley Stadium in August 2025.
