Dame Dash should seek new legal representation. His lawyers have served resignation papers due to unpaid fees.
HotNewHipHop is reference that the debts of the native of Harlem, New York, continue to mount. Last week, Felton T. Newell and Justin H. Sanders, Esqs., of Sanders Roberts LLP officially stepped down as attorneys of record for the media mogul. The reasons they cited included “breach of contractual obligations to the company” and claimed that Dame Dash “failed to meet their financial obligations under the retention agreement, resulting in the company taking enforcement action against them.”
The firm represented Dame Dash in his legal battle against Monique Bunn. Back in 2023, the photographer claimed he sexually assaulted her, but was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing. According documents received with HipHopDX, has since asked for the case to be reopened, citing the jury's failure to understand the severity of her injuries. Bunn also states that she was not compensated for her work and that Dame Dash.
“The evidence at trial – which was undisputed – established that each photograph was worth $1,500, which should have resulted in a verdict of at least $384,750,000,” the 285-page document read. “It is common knowledge that professional photographers earn much of their income through the licensing of their portfolio of photographs and the defendants' actions have destroyed Ms Bunn's financial prospects. The jury disregarded the valuation evidence and awarded zero to Ms. Bunn.”
