Key Largo, Florida emcee Darby O'Trill and Las Vegas, Nevada producer, emcee and fashion designer Shaggytheairhead are teaming up for a new collaborative LP just one month after Darby's departure Wind with Chapter 17 Records/Psychopathic Records founder Ouija Macc recording artist having received significant recognition. These guys have done a lot of songs together in the past, like “Street Trash” and “Greaper Shorts” to name just a couple, so it was really only a matter of time before they took it to the next level and got together to release 10 Buds produced by none other than Devereaux.
“It's Dem Again” gets the ball rolling with this no-wall trap opener talking about both of them back in this bitch, while “BULLSHIT” works against a dark background and the hats unblock each nonsense that people try to get their way. “Put 'Em in the Dump Truck” has a heavier sheen that organically tells everyone else to just shut the hell up leading into “The Box” which wants to put all the opps in a coffin. “Neva Mine” looks menacingly about getting your whip and bitch at the same time after you've been caught missing, but then the sick “Fuck Shit” talks about the admittedly trying to get into some shit.
Meanwhile, in “Perpetually Drifting Through the Void,” we have Darby & Shaggy tentatively depicting what it's like on the other side just before “Street Trash 3” serves as the final installment in the team-up trilogy that Scrappy began and Lazy & Crazy goes on. “SQUAD” closes the LP aggressively talking about how some people would never understand since they're not into shit before “FUTG (Fuck Up The Game)” closes out 10 sets with a misty trap vibe organically as well as the two MCs began to continue to blood the game.
10 Buds marks the first collaborative album to come out on C17 where Ouija isn't one of the 2 artists playing together, picking up the label's only other artist at the moment and even giving one of their producers a chance to shine on the mic with him . Needless to say: I thoroughly enjoyed it Wind last month. Darby O'Trill & Shaggytheairhead have always meshed perfectly over the years, they just bring in one of the hottest underground producers Devereaux to elevate their chemistry.
