Didi's the fight for bail continues. His lawyers have filed a new request and say that his relationship with Cassie she was consensual.
As per E Online, the Bad Boy Entertainment mogul is doing his best to get out on bail. Last week, his representatives filed an additional motion on Friday (Nov. 8), asking the presiding judge to reconsider Didi's previous bail denial because of “changed circumstances” and new evidence. The newly filed documents make it “clear that the government's case is thin.” His defense also pointed to the infamous video of Diddy attacking Cassie in a hotel hallway claiming it was “a look at a band for a few minutes but decade-long-term consensual relationship between Mr. Combs and Victim-1.”
This is the fourth time the “All About The Benjamin's” rapper has asked for bail. His previous attempts have included large cash offers for collateral and promises not to leave the country. On Tuesday (Sept. 17), Assistant US Attorney Emily Johnson referenced the devastating video in her reasoning for why he should be denied bail. “Following a horrific outburst at the InterContinental Hotel, the defendant violently assaulted the victim who was attempting to leave the hotel room and was walking down the corridor to the elevators,” he explained.
“He punched her, threw her to the ground, kicked her. He tried to drag her back to the hotel room and then later threw a vase at her. And after this attack the cover-up began.” Johnson would later argue that this is just one of many instances where he used his money, fame and power to suppress evidence of his wrongdoing.
Didi's trial is scheduled to begin in May 2025.
