Diplo isn't afraid to get a taste of the wild side. After Ludacris gained traction last month for checking an important item off his bucket list when he tasted pure Alaskan glacier water, Diplo figured if it's good enough for Luda, it's good enough for me.
In a 20-second video posted on Tuesday night (September 3), the DJ/producer is seen bound and kneeling on a glacier as he dunks a silver cup into the deep blue waters at an undisclosed location. “I'm going to try this glacier water,” he narrates as he dips his glass for a healthy refill. “Oh, that's a good boy, down there!”
The clip, which includes a text overlay that reads “this glacier water is ludacris,” also has the disclaimer: “It's clean to everyone, it's literally clean.”
The stunt came just weeks after Ludacris sparked concern and some condemnation following his recent trip to Alaska, which included a sip of Alaskan glacier water. “Half of the world's glaciers are right here in Alaska. I couldn't come here and just do a show. You know I have a bucket list — or as I like to call it the f— list,” Lunda said in his video. ” I have never tasted fresh ice cream in my life and this is a first. So let's go.”
After taking his slug, Luda ended the video with a cliffhanger to which he said, “Oh my god.” Commentators noted that glacier water may contain some dangerous bacteria, parasites and viruses, which are invisible to the eye and can cause serious health problems if ingested without purification.
Luda gave an update a few days later, assuring fans that as a “water snob” he could definitively say it was, “the best tasting water I've ever had in my life and as I drank it I felt like every cell in me The human body was hydrating and revitalizing at the same time… Listen man, I'm here. I feel like Superman.”
Commenters on Diplo's post had similar concerns, including: “How clean is it if everyone walks around in dirty boots?”, “Diplo is going to be dumplo for 2-5 weeks,” “But what if a polar bear just took a dive his burdens?” and “how's the diarrhea bud?”
