Drake appeared to respond to Kendrick Lamar and a myriad of other rap peers with a diss track of his own tentatively titled “Push Ups.”
Perhaps the release wasn't what 6 God envisioned, with a leaked non-master version hitting the web on Saturday (April 13). Some fans questioned the legitimacy of the track, with one possibility on social media speculating that it was created by AI.
Hours later, DJ Akademiks squashed fan theories and got his hands on the CDQ mix of “Push Ups” to premiere the scathing diss for the world to hear.
It wasn't just Kendrick Lamar that Drake seemed to be targeting with his response to K. Dot's hot “Like That” verse that set the rap game on fire. Future, Metro Boomin, The Weeknd, Rick Ross and more were supposedly targeted by the 6 God's on the track.
Drake blasted Lamar for his short stature and financial differences in his contract when it came to his deal with Top Dawg Entertainment.
“How the f— you big steppin” with man number seven/ Your last brick, you really don't — / They make excuses cause they hate to see me lit / Pull your contract, cause we gotta see the split / There's no way you splits b—- your pants can rip,” he raps.
“Big difference between Mike then and Mike now/ What's that, a 20-v-1, n–/ What's a prince to a king?” It's a son, n—-/ Get more love in the city you come from, n—-/ Subway, shut your ass and make some drums, n—-”.
Drake then turns his attention to Rick Ross and ditches his past fixer and takes credit for giving him several Hot 100 hits with their collaborations like “Gold Roses,” “Money in the Grave,” “Stay Schemin” and others. .
“I might take your last girl and cuff her like I'm Ricky/ I can't believe she's walking in, this n—- at 50/ Every song that charted, she got it from Drizzy/ Spend that lil “Check what you have and stay open to my work,” he says.
Rick Ross wasted no time in returning fire with his “Champagne Moments” coming at the OVO boss. Akademiks premiered the record that finds the MMG mogul saying Drake stole Lil Wayne's flow and claiming he's had a nose job in the past.
“That's why you had surgery to make your nose smaller than your father's,” he raps.
Ross didn't stop there as he continued to clown Drake by posting side-by-side photos of his face on his Instagram Story while calling him “BBL Drizzy.”
Drake responded by sharing a text conversation with his mom on Sunday (April 14) about the alleged nose job, while calling Ross a “mysterious moron.”
“I can't believe you would get one without me cause you know I always wanted one,” she joked while Drake replied, “I would have gotten us a 2 for 1 deal if I went mom. It's coming from Rick Ross, the guy I've been doing songs with, he's out of Mounjaro who hasn't eaten in days and it's pissed him off and made him a racist who plays dances for money, it's bad.”
Kendrick Lamar has yet to react to Drake's “Push Up,” which has not been released to streaming services as of press time. Find more of the social chatter between Drizzy and Rozay below.
