As tensions between Young Thug and Guna seems to have been renewed, DJ Akademiks shares details that may better explain the situation.
From his releaseYoung Thug has made it clear to former collaborator and Atlanta rapper Gunna that the two are not cool, and DJ Akademiks has shed some light on what's going on behind the scenes. The rapper shared his thoughts on Gunna in a post on X, formerly Twitter, writing, “Gunna stop acting like friends on the internet. I don't know you, my friend.” The post has since been deleted.
Akademiks took to X to share his take on Young Thug's post in a thread. “They told me everything.. Thug told Durk, Baby and some other rappers that Gunna was no good while he was incarcerated… meaning.. there is no way he's going to come back and justify the nips with Gunna when he told the n —s not messing with Gunna when he was locked up,” he wrote.
I was told that.. Thug told durk baby and some other rappers that gunna ain't no good while he was in jail.. meaning.. he can't come back out and justify rockin wit gunna when he told niggas don't rock . gunna when it was locked.

“Thug originally wanted to drop on Gunna's release date and it was going to have Baby and Durk as features,” DJ Akademiks continued. “Those traits didn't end up on his project, but he literally sent them the message saying 'I Don't Fk w that f–kn—a.. and I wantna drop on his date' … he also didn't drop on his date.”

Finally, the media personality closed with this thought: “Thug had to look to reach out to Gunna on the plea deal because there's a lot of things that need to be done. He has Gunna on unfulfilled contracts. If he was barred from having any communication with Guna.. that would give Guna a legal right to try to make the deal.”
Thug had to set up the communication with Gunna on the plea deal because there's still work to be done. He has Gunna on unfulfilled contracts. If he was banned from having any communication with Guna.. that would give Guna a legal right to try to make the deal.

Gunna has not publicly commented on Young Thug's now-deleted post. The explanation could make a lot of sense to those who have noted how Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Future and 21 Savage have kept their distance from him. Young Thug is currently serving a lengthy probation sentence after being released from the Fulton County Jail days ago. He's been busy with the community service component, speaking to Emory University students with his attorney, Brian Steel, recently.
