Two years after Gordo and Drake's collaborations became instant summer 2022 classics, they're showing more on the former's debut album, DIAMOND.
The introspective project, which is the culmination of over four years of work, is a reflection of Gordo's evolution as an artist. In May 2022, he retired from his Carnage alias.
“[DIAMANTE is] “It's the most emotional project I've ever worked on,” Gordo said. “It features work by artists I admire and am inspired by, some I've known for years and others I've met more recently.”
The collaboration between Gordo and Drake has been instrumental in shaping the landscape in which hip-hop meets house music. Their collaborative strength was first showcased on the latter's dance-influenced album Honestly, it doesn't matterin which Gordo contributed with the production of six songs.
Their synergy now continues by virtue of Diamond, which includes two new collaborations, “Sideways” and “Healing.” The album, which spans 16 tracks, also includes high-profile contributions from T-Pain, Leon Bridges, Maluma, Fuerza Regida and Rampa and Keinemusik’s &ME, among others.

Since adopting his alias Gordo, the DJ and producer, whose real name is Diamanté Blackmon, has earned several major accolades in a short time, including a Grammy nomination and a spot at the top Billboard“Hot 100 Producers” from his debut album, which has the feel of a huge success and a personal breakthrough.
