Draymond Green is officially on the shelf, and not even he knows for how long. On Wednesday, December 13, the NBA announced that the Golden State Warriors forward has been suspended indefinitely after being ejected from a game for “smashing” Phoenix Suns' Jusuf Nurkic in the face.
Since the incident, it's been a question of not if, but for how long the NBA will suspend Green.
ESPN Journalist Adrian Wojnarowski, of course, first reported Green's suspension. “This result takes into account Green's repeated history of unsportsmanlike conduct,” said the NBA's statement announcing its decision.
According to the NBA, Green is “required to meet certain league and team requirements before returning to play.” That will reportedly include submitting to some form of counseling with the Warriors and the NBA.
While Green has long been a divisive player when it comes to whether his “passion” on the court (or his goofball-like tendencies) is necessary, social media can agree that he gets these jokes. That means various discussions like whether Jordan Poole (whom Green punched when they were GSW teammates) is laughing, whether Green is being washed anyway and should be considered by WWE, and whether the punishment is too late.
