Dua Lipa will be doing double duty SNL in May.
Saturday night live released a lineup update for the NBC sketch comedy this weekend, following Saturday's Ryan Gosling/Chris Stapleton episode. The “Illusion” artist has been announced as both the host and musical guest for May 4th.
Fans in the comments section on Instagram I couldn't help but make puns seeing Dua Lipa's name stuck twice on the SNL board — among their taunts were “Dual Lipa,” “Duo Lipa,” and “Double Lipa.”
The singer also made the announcement and exclaimed “DOUBLE DUTY DUA!!!!!!!!” in her own Instagram post.
The burning question: Will there be a Studio 8H live reading of a sequel to Oscar Isaac Dua Lipa's original fan fiction? The Climax of Midnight?
Dua Lipa has just released her new single “Illusion”, the third single from her upcoming album Radical Optimismwhich arrives on May 3.
“'Illusion' was the first Caroline song [Ailin]Danny [Harle]Tobias [Jesso Jr.]Kevin [Parker] and I worked together, and it really broke the ice for the record,” the singer said in a press statement. “It's about knowing what you're getting yourself into, but staying the hell out of it. The joke is on them, it's fun to play someone at their own game because eventually you won't fall for an illusion.”
In his last episode SNL on air, host Ryan Gosling parodied a Ken-inspired version of Taylor Swift's “All Too Well” during his monologuewhile Chris Stapleton performed his songs “White Horse” and “Mountains of My Mind” and played the former in the musical sketch “Take that boy back” starring Chloe Troast, Ego Nwodim and Chloe Fineman.
